Together as a group we deicided to create a film poster to go with the trailer we were creating. Before creating the poster, we thought it would be a good idea and wise to take a look at a range of other existing film posters, that are relivant to the theme of our trailer. This was horror and we looked at various horror film posters from movies such as, the grudge, the ring, hills have eyes etc.
The film poster we created uses an image of a masked face with a bloody knife being wiped across its mouth. the image is purposly distorted adding a scary effect. it also looks asif it is being shown on a television screen as it is pixilated. this also adds to the scare factor which is perfect for a horror film poster. The slogan added to the top of the poster reads, "make yourself at home". This is tounge-in-cheek as it is a welcoming yet there is a picture of a distorted bloody mask with a knife wich makes it quite disturbing. For the Film Title, 'HouseBound' the font used is a little ragged, suggesting that the house is ragged and giving the feel of haunted house or occult possession. I believe our group successfully managed to make sure all the key conventions such as; billing block, Film Title, main image and also a slogan were being presented.
On completion of our film poster i noticed how similar in terms of the conventions and layout it was compared to the film Mirror's Film Poster.
